He launched the game. The familiar splash screen of Visual Concepts and 2K appeared. But then, instead of the usual menu, a cutscene played. The update also fixed the frame rate. The drifting felt smoother. The loading times between the overworld and the racing events were nearly gone. What had been a good game was now a great one.
