SCENE 1: Michael’s War Room – Dawn Michael Vedant (Vijay Sethupathi) hasn’t slept in three days. His board is covered in red string, photographs, and one circled name: Sunny Dixit .
Sunny’s hands shake as he feeds the next sheet. “No. I’m an artist. And this is my masterpiece.” A knock on Michael’s car window. It’s Feroz’s younger brother, Danish – a boy no one remembered. He holds a crumpled printout.
“The new plates are ready,” Zara says, holding up a memory stick. “But if we print again, Michael will find us in 48 hours. Unless…”
For the first time, Michael hesitates. “Put a two-man surveillance on Mathur. But keep the main team on Sunny. He’s close. I can feel him.” Inside a modified refrigerated truck, the press hums to life. Sunny watches the first sheet roll out – not a note, but a perfect replica of a Reserve Bank of India internal memo , ordering all new currency to be verified against a “revised security thread” that doesn’t exist. Mansoor closes his eyes. “You’re not a counterfeiter anymore, Sunny. You’re a terrorist.”
His partner, Megha (Amruta Subhash), walks in with coffee and bad news. “The Narcotics Bureau raided the wrong godown last night. Someone tipped them off about ‘high-quality fake dollars’ at a location that didn’t exist.” SCENE 1: Michael’s War Room – Dawn Michael
Sunny leans close, whispers: “Because the system doesn’t punish the rich who launder money. It punishes the poor who print it. I wanted to show you that your whole war – it’s a performance. Just like my notes.”
Megha runs the name. “Sir, Mathur exists. Sort of. His service record is flawless, but his PAN card was issued last week. His salary account has six lakhs in cash deposits – from a shell company linked to… Mansoor’s old partner.”
Sunny sees the headlights. “How?!”
Michael pulls himself onto the concrete. “He killed himself. To protect you. That’s not a victory. That’s a curse.”
